Announcements & Notifications

Message your whole vendor roster in-app and by email, with monthly email credits and opt-outs honored.

When you need to tell every vendor something — the lot is muddy, load-in moved to 6 AM, Saturday is cancelled — VendorStreet’s announcements put one message in front of your whole vendor list, in-app and optionally by email. This page covers composing them, the email credit allowance, and how vendors’ notification preferences interact with what you send.

How do I send an announcement?

Open your market’s Notifications page (from the market’s admin area, at /markets/<market-id>/notifications), write a subject and body, and send. Every vendor attached to the market receives it in their in-app inbox (the bell icon); tick the email option to also deliver it to their inbox for real.

Sending is available to organization owners and admins.

Who receives it?

Announcements go to your market’s vendors — everyone who has applied to or booked with the market. There’s no per-date targeting yet (“only vendors booked this Saturday”), so write announcements for the whole roster or name the date in the subject so others can skip it.

What are email credits?

Email delivery draws from a monthly allowance — 1,000 emails included per month. In-app delivery is always free and doesn’t touch the allowance. A send that would exceed your remaining balance is refused up front (you’ll see an insufficient email credits error) rather than partially delivered — if that happens, drop the email option and the in-app copy still goes out.

What about vendors who opted out?

Vendors (and guests) can opt out of non-essential email — via the unsubscribe link in any message or their profile settings. Announcement emails honor the opt-out: those vendors are skipped for email but still receive the in-app copy. This is the polite default and also what keeps your emails deliverable; don’t route around it.

What this isn’t (yet)

  • Not two-way. Vendors can’t reply in-app — include your contact channel in the message if you expect responses.
  • Not SMS. Email and in-app only.
  • Not scheduled. Messages send when you hit send; there’s no queue-for-later or recurring reminder.
  • Not automatic. Cancelling a schedule, approving an application, or issuing an invoice does not itself notify anyone by announcement — if the change matters, say so with a message.

That last point deserves emphasis: if you cancel a market day, tell your vendors with an announcement. The status change alone doesn’t reach them.
